Bertie County is located in the Northeastern portion of North Carolina and was named for James and Henry Bertie to whom King Charles II granted tracts of land in the New World called Carolina. Register of Deeds has birth, marriage, death and land records. Clerk Superior Court has divorce and court records from 1869 and probate records from 1763.
