The Historical Society of Long Beach collects, and presents local history. We seek to to present an inclusive community narrative and help create a greater understanding of our neighborhoods, the city and its place in the larger world. Visitors to the HSLB will find much to enjoy a permanent timeline and rotating exhibitions. with a collation that dates back to the 1880’s, there is something for everyone. Researchers should make appointments in advance. The HSLB has one of the broadest collections of the city’s history. Whether your interest if architecture, photography, early film studios, the Navy, your own home and neighborhood, the Pike, the city’s schools, or local city government, you will probably find something in our collection that will intrigue you.
