Scotland County is located in the south-central portion of North Carolina and shares a border with South Carolina. It was named for the ancestral home of many of its inhabitants. Register of Deeds has birth records from 1913, marriage, death and burial records from 1899, and land records. Clerk Superior Court has divorce, probate and court records from 1899.
