Jane Harris

I'm a Scottish genealogist and live just north of Inverness. Family history has been a passion for many years, starting with my own family.  To make sure that my work is built on a solid foundation, I studied for a Postgraduate Diploma in Genealogical Studies with the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. Janealogy, my business, then began about eight years ago and I bring the same enthusiasm and thoroughness to research on behalf of clients as I do for my own family. I love enabling people to discover their roots as well as breaking down genealogy "brickwalls". Projects range from very specific queries to full family tree research. My work covers all of Scotland but I have particular interests in the Highlands, where I live, and Orkney, where I was born and brought up. If you want to explore your family history yourself, I can work with you, online or in person, teaching you how to do your own research and get the most from genealogy websites. I also do some English, Irish and Welsh work.
