The regional church archive of Hanover is the central archive of the Evangelical Lutheran regional church of Hanover. It stores the documents of the church governing bodies and many church institutions, church districts and parishes, estates of pastors and other church employees, maintains collections of archive and church history and has an extensive reference library. The tradition goes back in part to the 12th century. In addition, the archive manages the archives of the United Evangelical Lutheran Church of Germany (VELKD).
